Albino
This mutation was first produced & proven simple recessive in 1992. We acquired our first Albino ball pythons into our collection in 2000. They were captive bred and hatched by Tom Carlton of Cypress Creek Reptiles, produced out of Bob Clark’s bloodline.
Albino ball pythons are actually amelanistic (that is an absence of black pigment). They can range from a pale yellow pattern on a white background to a brilliant white ball python with a high contrasting gold/yellow pattern. To date, there are two phases of Albino ball pythons, original Albinos and Lavender Albinos. At this time we are only working with the original Albino gene.
This is the ball python mutation that started it all. First produced by Bob Clark in 1992 the Albino ball pythons held their value at $7,500 for about 7 years. At that time, there were only about three or four ball python mutations to choose from. To further put things in perspective, back in 1992, paying $1,000.00 for a python was astronomical. That $7,500.00 price tag was almost the equivalent of some of the 30-40 thousand dollar ball pythons you see today.
