Granite

This mutation was produced and proven dominant in 1999. We are working with a number of imported 2004 Granite ball pythons that have not yet been proven genetic.

Granite ball pythons get their name from the speckled granite pattern along their sides within the light oval areas. Some Granites may be extremely speckled and others may just have a few black flecks. Some of the other things that we look for in this mutation are odd head patterns, a dark dorsal pattern that starts at the base of the head and extends towards the rear of the animal, splitting the gold dorsal pattern and extending approximately ½ inch to 1 inch. We also look for animals with broken gold dorsal stripes and patternless bellies with a green/Gray hue. This is a very subtle mutation, but depending what you breed it to, you may create some incredible new mutations.
